Joseph L. Licari (Joe) is an award-winning children's book author and music instructor from Saint James, Long Island. Through engaging humor, charming illustrations, and infectious rhymes, Joe's books entertain young readers while building vocabulary, literacy skills, and a love for language. Passionate and energetic, he brings stories to life through dynamic author visits and interactive reading workshops at schools, libraries, and community events, inspiring children to embrace reading and learning. His debut, Mia's Mouses, is a heartwarming story that introduces plural nouns (including tricky irregular ones) through the adventures of a young girl and her mischievous mouse friends. The second book in the series, Mia's Marvelous Farm Adventure, follows Mia and her pals on a farm exploration where they discover the fun of homophones, triggering giggles, dances, and "aha!" moments along the way. Joe holds an MBA from Hofstra University and a B.S. from Stony Brook University. He is an active member of the Long Island Authors Group, the Smithtown Library Writing Group, Long Island Children’s Writers and Illustrators (LICWI), and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). When not writing or teaching, Joe enjoys quality time with his family, playing golf, staying active, and contributing to his local church and community.
